During the 9th Central European Wedding Exhibition held at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center, Hungary’s Minister of Culture and Innovation, Hankó Balázs, revealed the government’s intention to make 2025 the “Year of Family Formation for Youth.” The plan aims to assist young people, especially university students, in starting families by providing scholarships and flexible study schedules. This initiative is designed to make it easier for students to have children while continuing their education.
Hankó noted that the government has introduced 30 family policy measures to ensure financial security and support for families across all life stages. Among these initiatives, a new worker loan is set to be introduced next year, which will further ease the family formation process for young people.
“We wish that the joy of your wedding day becomes a reality in your daily lives, and we aim to support you in every way possible,” Minister Hankó expressed, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting young families.
The organizer of the exhibition, Attila Dégi, explained to MTI that the event was launched in 2015 to meet the growing demands of the wedding industry. The exhibition has grown to become Hungary’s largest, with 270 exhibitors spread over 8,000 square meters at the Hungexpo venue, providing a one-stop experience for wedding-related services.
The event featured a diverse program, including “wedding school” sessions where couples can learn essential wedding planning details, such as budgeting, and bridal fashion shows. With presentations and exhibitors covering everything from rings to venues and catering, the event offered prospective couples all they need for a successful wedding celebration.
