Speaker of the TRNC Parliament, Ziya Öztürkler, emphasized the geopolitical significance of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the entire Turkic world during a television appearance. Highlighting the difficult periods the Turkish Cypriot people have faced, Öztürkler stressed the importance of calm, thorough analysis and solidarity, especially regarding national matters shared with Türkiye.

In his remarks, Öztürkler noted that the TRNC’s recognition is a collective duty for the Turkic world and pointed out the Greek Cypriot Administration’s obstruction attempts in the real estate sector, labeling them as economic sabotage. He underscored the need to remain firm in the face of these challenges and to promote international solidarity and investment.

Öztürkler also criticized Greek Cypriot Speaker Annita Dimitriou’s remarks linking Türkiye’s actions to EU defense participation, describing them as unconstructive. He asserted that Türkiye’s strategic role and its cooperation with TRNC serve as vital stabilizing factors in the region.
