Festival Academy Budapest (FAB), an internationally renowned music festival founded a decade ago by violinist couple Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a gala concert at the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy on December 11. Originally launched by András Batta with support from Zoltán Kocsis, who performed and mentored at the first event, FAB has since grown into a prominent cultural series with summer, winter, and spring festivals, hundreds of masterclasses, and international competitions at various skill levels.

The anniversary concert will encourage audiences to embrace family and celebrate with loved ones during the advent season. The evening will feature iconic works by Schubert, Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi, performed by the Kelemen-Kokas family and the Erkel Ferenc Chamber Orchestra.

FAB offers a unique fusion of performance and education, welcoming around 150 students and 60 artists from over 65 countries annually at its summer festival. Over the past decade, FAB has incorporated literature, exhibitions, and unique spaces transformed into concert venues. During the 10th summer festival in July, artists and audiences alike will pay tribute to Zoltán Kocsis in a series of outstanding solo performances.

The festive concert will open with Schubert’s “Ave Maria” arranged by János Aranyos, featuring Dóra Kokas on cello. The program will continue with Bach’s Double Violin Concerto in D minor performed by Barnabás Kelemen and Katalin Kokas, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat, and Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” with a narrative element introduced by Gáspár Kelemen and Hanna Kelemen.
