The Exhibition Center of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan has opened a personal exhibition for Berdi Charyyev, a member of the Turkmenistan Union of Artists, in honor of his 55th birthday. Charyyev has showcased nearly 100 works. When asked about his favorite artist by a journalist, he promptly replied, “Vermeer.” Although Charyyev and the Dutch artist differ stylistically, both communicate profound subtexts in their works, engaging viewers on a deeper level.

One of the most impactful pieces is “Unused Opportunities,” depicting two women at a bus stop, a passing elderly man with an empty stroller, and an egg-shaped road sign. The painting invites viewers to reflect on how modern women may focus on careers, overlooking family values, ultimately facing loneliness.

In each of Berdi Charyyev’s works, viewers are encouraged to look for hidden meanings, uncovering thought-provoking insights.
