Speaking at the “March 21 Nevruz Day Commemoration Program” held at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated his belief that Turkey is nearing the final phase of efforts aimed at achieving a “terror-free Turkey.”
During his address, Erdoğan suggested that March 21, celebrated as Nevruz, could be declared an official national holiday. He called on the ruling coalition, the People’s Alliance, to take this step together.
Erdoğan emphasized Nevruz’s significance as a symbol of renewal and unity, and proposed bringing the idea of recognizing it as a shared celebration across the Turkic world to the agenda of the upcoming Organization of Turkic States summit in May.
