Bishkek is hosting an important international event for the Eurasian film industry. The “Eho Eurasia-Kinofest” international film forum is organized by the independent “Eurasia” non-profit organization.

This festival serves not only as a platform for screening the best films but also as a key event for discussing pressing issues in the Eurasian film industry. Kymbat Urumkulova, director of “Eurasia Kyrgyzstan”, highlighted that the festival provides great opportunities for professional exchange between filmmakers and audiences.

Participants and Objectives

The festival brings together representatives from not only Kyrgyzstan and Russia but also other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This allows participants to exchange ideas and experiences in filmmaking.

One of the key goals of the event is to develop the cinematic potential of Eurasian countries and support young and talented directors who contribute to the region’s cultural heritage. The forum also explores how traditional values can coexist with modern technology and how art can shape audience perception.

Educational and Cultural Programs

The festival includes various educational programs, such as acting and public speaking masterclasses, as well as panel discussions on film distribution, festivals, and online platforms.

These activities aim to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge, benefiting both emerging talents and experienced professionals.

Films to be Screened

From February 2 to 4, the festival will showcase a selection of outstanding films, including:

  • “Thank You, Coach!” (Director: Nurlan Anarbayev)
  • “Ungeriya” (Director: Pairav Sharifov)
  • “Heaven Lies Beneath Mothers’ Feet” (Director: Ruslan Akun)

All screenings are free for audiences, making cinema accessible to a broader public.
