Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Friday during a press conference in Budapest, following talks with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, that the European Union’s interior ministers will vote on December 12 in Brussels on Hungary’s proposal regarding Romania and Bulgaria’s Schengen membership.
Orbán also shared a short video on X (formerly Twitter) revealing that Donald Trump, the U.S. President-elect, called him at the end of the working lunch.
While the details of the conversation remain unknown, this marks the second phone call between Trump and Orbán since the American elections. Trump, the first European leader Orbán spoke with post-election, reached out again to discuss undisclosed matters.
