Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Edil Baisalov, represented Kyrgyzstan at the 11th “China – Central Asia” Cooperation Forum in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China. During his speech, Baisalov emphasized the forum’s importance in deepening the friendly relations between Central Asia and China.

Addressing the theme of this year’s forum, “Promoting Green Development to Build a Shared Home,” he underlined that green development is a critical element for a sustainable future. “Kyrgyzstan proposes to strengthen and widely implement a debt-for-green-economy exchange mechanism to support developing and less-developed countries in fighting climate change,” said Baisalov. He added that Kyrgyzstan prioritizes climate issues in its national policies and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050, based on green development principles.

Baisalov also highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to implementing the “Five-Year Plan for the Development of Mountain Regions” from 2023-2027 and discussed the upcoming 2027 Second Global Mountain Summit, “Bishkek+25.” He informed the forum of ongoing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan on constructing the Kambarata-1 hydropower plant and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project. Additionally, he visited the photo exhibition “China – Central Asia Cooperation Achievements” and participated in the tree-planting ceremony on the forum’s commemorative avenue.
