Prime Minister Ünal Üstel celebrated the 41st anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at a press conference, where he underscored the country’s development and reaffirmed its dedication to a two-state solution.

Üstel emphasized the TRNC’s steady growth since its establishment and noted that the dynamics surrounding the Cyprus issue had significantly shifted. “The attempts to keep the TRNC hostage at the negotiation table have ended. The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) has also reiterated its full support for a two-state solution with its joint declaration. The Turkish Cypriot people have redefined the norms,” he stated.

Highlighting the TRNC’s strides toward international recognition, Üstel said the country is actively working to address infrastructure challenges and align itself more closely with the global community.

“Reforms that were left untouched for years are now being implemented. Projects in health, education, and agriculture are progressing steadily,” Üstel explained, pointing to key milestones achieved by his administration.

One of the government’s flagship projects is the integration of agricultural water from Türkiye into Mesarya, which Üstel committed to completing within the next two years. He assured the public that his government remains fully aware of the challenges faced by the TRNC and is working tirelessly to enhance the quality of life.

“No one should doubt it: together, we will achieve the greatest projects in our Republic’s history by 2025. With the support of our people, we will reach our development goals,” Üstel concluded.
