The Cultural Heritage Technical Committee has commenced restoration work on two significant historical sites: the early Gothic St. George of the Latins Church in Famagusta, and the Tuzla Mosque in Larnaca, a structure embodying four distinct historical eras. These conservation projects are funded by the ALIPH Foundation, and the European Union has provided project planning support, with the UNDP offering technical assistance throughout the process.

St. George of the Latins Church is a remarkable example of early Gothic architecture, preserving valuable elements from that era. Tuzla Mosque, initially constructed as a basilica, showcases a unique four-layered history, having undergone transformations during the Byzantine, Latin, and Ottoman periods. The layered architecture reflects the cultural and historical shifts over centuries.

Both conservation projects are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. The committee expressed gratitude to the experts and workers contributing to these efforts, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage as a means of honoring history and fostering community connections.
