A seminar on public administration was held in Beijing, bringing together representatives from public administration academies in China and Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. The event, organized with support from the Astana Civil Service Hub, provided a platform for experience exchange and discussion of potential joint initiatives.
On the first day of the visit, Alihan Baymenov, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub, met with Li Yi, Vice President of China’s National Academy of Governance. The discussion highlighted the importance of the recently established Network of Public Administration Academies for knowledge-sharing and capacity building. Baymenov underscored that the network offers a solid foundation for continuous exchange of expertise.
The second day’s seminar, themed “Joint Efforts for Modernizing Administrative Capacity,” included presentations by leaders from China’s digital firms iFLYTEK and Alibaba and highlighted rural governance successes in the villages of Jinshan and Xiaogucheng. In 2023, an agreement was signed in Beijing to establish the China-Central Asian Network of Public Administration Academies to facilitate knowledge sharing in public administration transformation and personnel development.
