The comprehensive investigation into the illegal actions of Armenian separatists and illegal armed groups in Azerbaijan’s formerly occupied territories has concluded. According to Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office, crimes such as occupation, genocide, war crimes, and terrorism have been documented across 2,548 incidents involving 15 individuals.

Notable defendants include Arkadi Gukasyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, and Bako Sahakyan. The charges include planning aggressive war (Article 100), genocide (Article 103), intentional murder (Article 120), and terrorism (Article 214) under Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code. During the investigation, all procedural rights, including legal representation, were ensured for the defendants.

Azerbaijan has called on Armenia for cooperation in the investigation. The indictment was approved on December 16, 2024, and referred to the Baku Military Court for consideration.
