Bishkek has been officially designated as the Digital Capital of the Turkic World for 2025 at the XI Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. President Sadyr Japarov expressed gratitude for the collective support for Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to strengthen digital collaboration among Turkic states. He emphasized that this project aims to foster economic growth by simplifying e-commerce, enhancing logistical operations, and establishing mutual recognition of digital standards, including digital signatures and certifications among member states.
Japarov highlighted the importance of advancing digital infrastructure, particularly in public services and AI research, to foster stronger economic ties and greater regional competitiveness. During the summit, which brought together leaders from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Hungary, the delegates focused on mutual cooperation in economic integration, sustainable development, and digital advancements.
Additionally, eight key agreements were signed, including the adoption of the Charter of the Turkic World, which outlines a framework for future collaboration. The Kyrgyz President also proposed establishing a library dedicated to the Turkic-speaking peoples to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the region for the younger generations.
