Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department, posted visuals on social media platform X showcasing the environmental destruction inflicted by Armenia during its 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
In his post, Hajiyev emphasized that the recently liberated Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions of Azerbaijan have been declared zero-emission and green energy zones. “The 30-year military occupation caused severe damage to the region’s ecosystem. Had Armenia’s occupation not occurred, Azerbaijan could have achieved even greater advancements in the field of green energy,” he stated.
Hajiyev’s post aims to shed light on the ecological terrorism endured during the occupation and underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable energy and environmental recovery in the liberated territories.
