On January 24, Colonel General Hikmat Mirzayev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Defense Minister and Commander of the Ground Forces, conducted an official visit to Türkiye where he met with General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces’ Ground Forces.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense confirmed the meeting, highlighting discussions on the current state of military cooperation between the two allied nations. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing partnership and emphasized its positive impact on regional security.
The commanders exchanged views on various topics of mutual interest, including strengthening bilateral defense collaboration and exploring avenues for further enhancement of military ties. The Turkish Ministry of Defense echoed the Azerbaijani statements, reaffirming the importance of cooperation for maintaining stability in the region.
