President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan described the relationship with Türkiye as unmatched worldwide—even among the closest allies. His statement came during the reception of credentials from Birol Akgün, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev highlighted that this strategic alliance is evolving not only bilaterally but also through trilateral frameworks, notably with Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Emphasizing the deep bonds within the Turkic world, he recalled affirming that “the Turkic world is our family” during his inauguration at the Milli Majlis.

The conversation also touched upon the robust cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in international organizations, with Turkey reiterating its support for Azerbaijan’s membership in the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. These developments underscore a continually strengthening partnership with broad regional and global implications.
