Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova met with Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Charlotte Justine Diokno-Sicat, reports Kazinform News Agency, citing the Government’s press service.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s collaboration with the international financial institution. During this period, financial, technical, and advisory support has been provided for projects across various sectors.
Currently, ADB is offering advisory services for the construction and operation of a multidisciplinary university hospital in Karaganda. Technical assistance is also being provided to improve public-private partnership (PPP) project regulations. As a pilot project, the construction of five student dormitories for the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev in Almaty has been identified.
Under the President’s directives, comprehensive measures are being implemented to enhance education quality in the country, including infrastructure modernization, curriculum development, and teacher training. One of the key goals is the capital renovation of 1,300 schools, involving modern equipment for classrooms. Tamara Duisenova invited ADB representatives to collaborate in this area.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the possibility of ADB’s participation in these initiatives.
ADB representatives expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in the social sector. Both sides agreed to explore proposed projects in close coordination with relevant ministries.
Earlier, it was reported that the Islamic Development Bank allocated $2 billion for infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan, including its largest project in the country.
