Today, a UZTELECOM delegation held a meeting at Huawei’s headquarters to discuss future collaborations on 5G technology, artificial intelligence, and big data applications in Uzbekistan. According to the company’s information service, representatives of the National Telecommunications Operator explored innovations in ICT to bring advanced technology into the country.

The meeting focused on strengthening Uzbekistan’s ICT infrastructure, with plans to introduce 5G and 5.5G networks using artificial intelligence and big data for “smart” cities and homes. Leveraging AI and big data is expected to accelerate Uzbekistan’s digitalization process, enhancing quality of life and streamlining daily activities.

The parties have a long history of cooperation in telecommunications and innovation. Notably, in September’s “ICTWEEK 2024,” the companies launched Uzbekistan’s first 5.5G network. Following the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation for implementing AI and big data projects.
