Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, discussing Azerbaijani-Dutch relations and regional developments in the post-conflict period.

During the discussion, both sides highlighted the significance of political consultations between their foreign ministries, emphasizing bilateral relations, international cooperation, and diplomatic visits.

Bayramov detailed the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stressing that despite finalizing negotiations on a peace agreement, Armenia’s constitutional territorial claims against Azerbaijan and its stance on the Minsk Group and OSCE structures continue to obstruct the process. Removing these obstacles is essential for signing the agreement.

He also addressed the trial of separatist leaders accused of crimes against Azerbaijan, noting that after anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan allowed over 10,000 Armenian armed group members to leave the country. The arrested individuals are charged with crimes against humanity, and claims of arbitrary detention were refuted by the UN Human Rights Council’s Working Group on Arbitrary Detention on March 13, 2025.

Both ministers also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest.
