Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan reaffirmed that Karabakh remains the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan in a parliamentary exchange with opposition deputy Gegham Manukyan. Responding to questions, Simonyan stated, “The territory we are discussing was and is the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan.”

Simonyan also highlighted that Azerbaijan had support from “at least 3-4 UN Security Council resolutions” during its recent operation in Karabakh. He acknowledged that while different interpretations may exist, the established international status of Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan is a clear fact.
