Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude towards Kazakhstan for its swift and heroic response following the Aktau plane crash, which claimed the lives of 38 people. Speaking about the incident, Aliyev commended Kazakh rescue teams for risking their lives to save others and thanked Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the nation’s solidarity.

“Kazakh rescue teams arrived immediately and worked tirelessly to save passengers, even under the threat of further explosions. This is a true example of bravery. Medical personnel also ensured injured passengers were promptly treated,” Aliyev said.

He also noted the emotional impact of Kazakh citizens leaving flowers at the Azerbaijani Consulate in Aktau, calling it “a symbol of true friendship and brotherhood.”

Aliyev emphasized the need for transparency in the investigation and expressed Azerbaijan’s support for involving international experts to uncover the truth behind the incident. He noted that Kazakhstan has also formed a state commission to investigate the tragedy.

Reflecting on the tragedy, Aliyev stated, “Despite this difficult situation, our friendship and brotherhood with Kazakhstan have only grown stronger.”
