Olivier Oudin, Investment Director at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), highlighted the alignment of the Middle Corridor’s green transformation with the AIIB’s mission during a panel discussion in Baku titled “Pathways to Sustainable Connectivity.” He expressed AIIB’s readiness to support Azerbaijan in modernizing the corridor, positioning it as a vital transport route between Asia and Europe.

“The transformation of the Middle Corridor into a regional green corridor is fully in line with AIIB’s mandate. We are ready to collaborate with partners such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), CAREC, and the EU to ensure its success,” Oudin emphasized.

The Middle Corridor is a strategic trade route connecting Asia and Europe, passing through China, Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye before reaching Europe. It serves as an alternative to the traditional Northern and Southern Corridors.
