The 2nd International Congress of Young Academics from the Turkic World was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Organized by the Union of Young Academics and hosted by Tashkent State Law University, the event was supported by Türkiye’s Presidential Communication Directorate, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Yunus Emre Institute, and the Maarif Foundation. Academics and scientists from over 20 countries, including representatives from both Türkiye and Uzbekistan, gathered under the theme “Building a Common Future” to share ideas and forge stronger collaborations.

In his opening speech, Yunus Kocabıyık, President of the Union of Young Academics, expressed his delight at holding the congress in Uzbekistan—a historic center of science that once nurtured great scholars such as Khwarezm, Ibn Sina, Ulugh Beg, Ali Kuşçu, Alişir Nevai, Biruni, Fergani, Buhari, and Maturidi. He emphasized that the congress would strengthen scientific collaboration among Turkic nations and pave the way for future breakthroughs.

Professor Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocağil, Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, also conveyed his satisfaction with the congress being held in Uzbekistan, a land with a rich intellectual legacy. He noted that the event provided a valuable platform for discussions with Uzbek universities and the establishment of new partnerships.

Recalling the success of the first congress held in Ankara, Karahocağil mentioned that this second edition attracted 268 academics and scientists from 120 universities across 21 countries. Over the two-day event, participants presented research findings and engaged in discussions on preserving shared cultural heritage, academic cooperation, economic development projects, digital transformation, and the role of the Turkic world in regional politics.
