On November 29, 2024, the 16th Meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was convened in Budapest, Hungary. This gathering, hosted by Hungary, highlighted the continued efforts of the Turkic States to strengthen cooperation and solidarity.
During the meeting, the Council reviewed the successful outcomes of initiatives introduced at previous summits, including progress on recommendations made during the 15th Council of Elders meeting in Ashgabat earlier in 2024. The members also assessed updates on projects discussed at the Bishkek Summit held on November 6, 2024, which focused on “Empowering the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All.”
The Council expressed gratitude to Hungary for hosting the meeting, emphasizing the significant contributions of Observer States like Hungary in advancing the OTS’s goals and promoting its mission.
