For the first time, Azerbaijan’s State Examination Center (SEC) will organize university entrance exams in Xankendi, a historic step in reintegrating formerly occupied regions into the national education system.
According to SEC, exams for Groups II and III will be held on May 25, and for Groups I and IV on June 1, across 24 cities and districts of Azerbaijan, including Xankendi.
The exams will take place at Karabakh University and will welcome students from Xankendi, Khojaly, Aghdara, Shusha, and Lachin, as well as recent graduates from schools in Fuzuli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan. A total of 51 candidates are expected on May 25 and 21 candidates on June 1.
Since 2023, the SEC has gradually expanded its operations into liberated territories, starting with Zangilan’s Aghali village and later holding exams in Lachin, Fuzuli, Aghdara, Shusha, and Khojaly.
